Saharsa : Police are yet to arrest Dinesh Yadav and his associate Mithilesh Kumar who allegedly gangraped a married woman at near Baijnathpur canal under Saur Bazaar police station in Saharsa district on May 24, 2017, late night.
The survivor is elder sister-in-law ( Gotni) of Dinesh Yadav’s daughter Premlata. The accused left the victim at canal in an unconscious state and escaped from there. After gaining consciousness, the woman reached her home at Baijnathpur. Her family members rushed her to Saharsa Sadar hospital. Mahila Police station, Saharsa, recorded the statement of the woman on May 25, 2017, and her medical examination was also done the same day but the accused are yet to be arrested.
The survivor, in her statement to police, said that Dinesh Yadav reached her house at 11.30 pm on May 24 with his friend on a bike. Dinesh told her mother -in-law that his daughter Premlata was admitted to a private clinic at Saharsa and requested her to accompany him to the clinic. Her mother -in-law asked her elder daughter-in-law to accompany Dinesh saying she would be reaching Saharsa on May 25 morning after arranging money. But, instead of taking the woman to Saharsa, Dinesh took her to Baijnathpur canal where he and Mithilesh allegedly gangraped her. The victim’s husband and his brother-in-law ( Premlata’s husband), both electric mechanic, had gone to Shankarpur block in Madhepura district in connection with their work on the day.
