Saharsa Dealers’ Association president shot at, injured

Saharsa : Six criminals riding two motorcycles shot at and injured President of Dealers’ Association, Saharsa district, Bhagwan Das, when he was taking rest on the verandah of his house at Subedari Tola under Sadar Police Station (PS) in Saharsa district on August 30, 2017, noon.

The criminals riding two bikes reached Bhagwan Das’s residence and started firing on him. They fired six rounds on him. One of the bullets hit his left hand. Bhagwan Das was immediately rushed to a private hospital at Saharsa. Bhagwan Das’s wife Mala Devi identified three of the six criminals as Vanshraj, Ashish Mishra and Chulbul Pandey.

A large number of Bhagwan Das’s well wishers reached the private hospital after hearing about the incident. Some of them said that Bhagwan Das had worked for Dinesh Sah, a candidate from Ward number 39 of Saharsa Nagar Parishad, in the last municipal elections, which had angered some people supporting a rival candidate. Dinesh Sah had won the poll. Sadar Police Station team first visited the place of occurrence and thereafter the private hospital. Police were investigating into the incident.
