Saharsa : Criminals shot at and seriously injured Dinesh Sah, husband of Saharsa District Board (DB) member from Saur Bazaar Tila Devi, in broad daylight near a canal close to his village Gaura Tola on April 13, 2017. He was returning to his village Gaura Tola under Saur Bazaar block after dropping his wife Tila Devi at Saharsa DB office. Tila Devi had to attend a DB meeting.
Dinesh Sah, who was shot at near ear, was admitted to private Satyam Nursing Home, Saharsa. The incident has shocked the people as just few days back Ranjit Sah alias Tuntun Sah, son of a former Mukhia, was shot dead at Mahua Bazaar under Basnahi police station while on April 11, 2017, criminals looted Rs 1.26 lakh from a Gas Agency located near Saur Bazaar police station.
DB Chairperson Arahul Devi, vice-chairperson Khatri Yadav and DB member and CPI leader Om Prakash Narayan visited Satyam Nursing Home to inquire about the well being of Dinesh Sah. CPI leader Narayan expressed his serious concern over spurt in crime in Saharsa district.
SDPO Subodh Kumar Biswas said that Dinesh Sah was returning to his village as he had to attend a panchayat at Gaur Tola on April 13 evening. But, criminals, who were waiting for him, fired on him when he reached near the canal close to his village, Biswas said adding he had directed the SHO, Sadar police station, Saharsa, to immediately record the statement of Dinesh Sah.
