Saharsa : Saharsa District Administration on May 13, 2021, removed Assistant Drug Controller Mahesh Ram and Drug Inspector (DI) Pankaj Kumar Suman from their respective posts for allegedly conniving with black-marketeers of drugs including Remdesivir urgently required for the treatment of Covid-19 patients as well as with Radiology Centres exploiting the patients and their attendants.
Saharsa DM Kaushal Kumar had constituted a two-member committee headed by Deputy Development Commisionr (DDC), Saharsa,Rajesh Kumar Singh, to probe the matter after receiving complaints from different people regarding black-marketing of covid-19 drugs andexploitation of patients and their attendant by the Radiology Centres allegedly in connivance with Assistant Drug Copntroller and Drug Isnpector. SDO, Saharsa, Shambhunath Jha, was the other member of the committee. The District Administraation has asked both the Assistant Drug Controller and Drug Inspector to showcause why appropriate departmental proceedings should not be initiated against them.
The district administration ensured that a Radiology Centre located on Gandhi Path returned the excess money charged from around 18 patient while Director of Shiv Shakti Medical Agency located on Mahavir Chowk had to return the excess amount charged from the Covid patients for Remdesevir insjection.
