Saharsa : Steel Box dealer Saken Yadav, a native of village Simraha under Sadar police station, Saharsa, had a miraculous escape on April 16, 2017, when two bike borne miscreants including  Ramseth Yadav entered his shop at Bajnathpatti Chowk and fired indiscriminately on him. The two miscreants were escaping after firing on Saken Yadav but were caught by the villagers and handed over to police. Police reached the place of occurrence after being informed by panchayat Mukhia Kewal Yadav.

Saken, in an FIR lodged with police, alleged that Ramseth Yadav had come to his shop 15 days back and demanded a steel box worth Rs 5,000 as `Rangdari’ (extortion). When he refused, Ramseth threatened him with dire consequence while leaving the shop, Saken alleged adding that on April 16 Ramseth and his associate reached his shop on a bike and started firing on him but he had a lucky escape.

On the other hand, Ramseth alleged that about six months back Saken’s brother Bipin Yadav had kidnapped his daughter and married her. Since then he had been requesting both Saken and his brother Bipin to return his daughter but to no avail. On April 16 too, Ramseth claimed, he had visited Saken’ shop to seek release of his daughter but was framed in a case.

SHO, Sadar police station, Bhai Bharat, said Ramseth Yadav and his associate Dipak Yadav had been arrested and a pistol and a bike seized from their possession. Police were investigating into the incident.
