Patna: Patna Sadar SDO Tanay Sultania on July 11, 2020, ordered for closure of Mithapur Vegetable Market for three days due to gross violation of standard operating procedure there.

Besides this, directive has been issued to a vendor Raj Kumar Yadav asasking him to either remain present in the court to give clarification within 24 hours or through his lawyer. An order to this effect has been issued by Sub-Divisional Officer, addressing Rajkumar Yadav, Vegetable Market, Mithapur. The case was probed by additional SDO, Patna Sadar. After investigation, gross violation of standard was found there. Accordingly, action was taken to close the market under Section 133 of Code of Criminal Procedure.
Meanwhile, Patna DM Kumar Ravi appealed to people to use masks and maintain social distance and be careful and alert in view of
COVID-19 infection. It may be mentioned here that in view of alarming increase in Corona infection,  Patna DM had directed all magistrates and police officials to remain active and prompt besides ensuring mandatory use of masks, sanitiser, and social distancing. He had also directed to recover fine of Rs 50 from persons loitering at public places and markets without wearing mask.
The DM had warned that if complaints pour regarding crowd gathering in markets without using masks and not maintaining social distancing, then shops and markets concerned would be closed under Epidemic Act.
