Patna : South Africa (SA) defeated England by 10 runs in a close contest in a Group 1 match of ICC T20 World Cup at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah, UAE, on November 6, 2021, late night, as fast bowler Kagiso Rabada took a hat-trick in the last over making back-to-back strikes on the first three balls of the over. SA, however, failed to qualify for the knock-out stage due to poor run rate. SA were supposed to restrict England to 132 runs to qualify for the knock-out stage. England, SA, and Australia finished the Group satge with 8 points from 5 games each.
Rabada took the wickets of Chris Woakes, England captain Eoin Morgan, and Chris Jordan on the first three balls of the 20th over to finish with 3/48 in 4 overs.
