Patna : Asked to follow on, South Africa (SA) were 102/6 in their second innings in 3rd test against England at stumps on Day 4 at St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on January 19, 2020 night, with Vernon Philander batting on 13 and Keshav Maharaj batting on 5. SA captain Faf du Plessis scored 36 runs. England captain Joe Root, a part-time spinner,  has taken 4/31 in 19 overs while Mark Wood has taken 2/23 in 11 overs. SA trail by 188 runs.

Earlier resuming at their overnight score of 208/6, SA were all out for 209 runs losing 4 wickets adding just 1 runs to their score. Spinner Dominic Bess took 5/51 while Stuard  Broad took 3/30. England had declared their first innings at 499/9 on Day 2.
