Motihari : Munsif Magistrate, Motihari  civil court, Nishant  Kumar Priydarshi, on Thursday received a threatening call at his official chamber from a criminal who asked him to pay an extortion amount of Rs 25 lakh failing which he would be  killed. He  informed the  District and sessions judge, Motihari,  and  then informed East Champaran SP Jitendra Rana about it.

SP Rana  rushed to the  office chamber of District and sessions judge  and  inquired  into the matter.  SHO, Town police station, Motihari, Ajay Kumar met the  munsif magistrate and lodged a case  in this connection. Police are trying to trace the caller. It may be mentioned here that circle officer (CO) of  Chiraiya  and  a junior engineer of Rural Works department at Chakiya  were  threatened  by extortionists and asked to pay  extortion last week but the callers  are  yet to be arrested by police.
