Patna : Unidentified car borne criminals stole over Rs 19 lakh from three different ATMs in Patna district on August 27, 2018, night, by cutting the cash boxes using gas cutter. Police suspect the hand of Jharkhand or Aurangabad (Bihar) based gang behind the incident. Police have identified an Scorpio used in the crime and three criminals through the CCTV footage though they are yet to arrest any of them.
Cash was stolen from an SBI ATM in Housing Colony under Patrakar Nagar police station, a Bank of Baroda ATM on NH -30 under Maner police station, and an SBI ATM in Bhagvatnagar locality under Agamkuan police station. Interestingly, the criminals left Rs 97,000 in the ATM cash box in Housing Colony under Patrakar Nagar police station, according to SHO, Patrakar Nagar police station. Three separate firs were lodged with police in this connection by the legal advisor of the agency concerned.
