Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Security forces were on their toes since August 23, 2017, morning when Railway Protection Force (RPF) cops found 5 Gelatine sticks placed on railway tracks between Chandrapura junction and Bhandaridah railway station in Jharkhand at 8 am on the day. The spot where these explosive materials were found is about 24 km away from Bokaro Steel city on VIC section of Dhanbad railway division.
The Gelatine sticks were found by RPF after getting information that few suspicious materials were spotted by few villagers on railway tracks. Soon after getting this information, railway DSP Binod Kumar Mahto rushed to the spot and later took the rods to IEL Gomia explosive factory to ascertain whether the Gelatine sticks were of the factory.
Acoording to police, the Gelatine sticks were not on the track at 5.30 am when Gomoh – Barwadih passenger train passed from there and the next passenger train was to cross the track at 11 am.
However, there are burning and smoke marks near the spot where Gelatine sticks were found.
Investigation into the incident has started, said rail DSP Binod Mahto.
