Sasaram : District Education Officer (DEO), Rohtas, Mahendra Poddar, with a view to streamlining education system and ensure attendance of students at schools and colleges, on July 27, 2018, ordered that all the coaching institutes in Rohtas district would remain closed daily from 9 am to 4 pm daily warning them of stern action if they fail comply with the order.
DEO said that coaching centres owners are running their coaching centres since early morning to late in the evening hampering teachings in schools and colleges leading to absence of students from their respective colleges and schools. He said that the students prefer to go to coaching institutes than going going to their colleges or schools.
The DEO directed all the Block Education Officers (BEOs) to keep vigil round the clock under their respective jurisdiction and take stern action against the recalcitrant coaching centre owners. He said coaching centres have emerged like mushroom in the district and remain unregistered despite several reminders. He said if any coaching centre is found open during school and college hour, they would either be closed permanently or slapped heavy penalty.
