Aurangabad: Police claim to have foiled road robbery bid in Aurangabad district by arresting three criminals on August 2 night. Police  recovered iron made nails, countrymade pistol and other items used for looting heavy vehicles.

Three members of a robbers’ gang were hatching a conspiracy to loot passenger buses and trucks plying on National Highyway-2 and other other roads. A police team, on a tip off, conducted raid at Raipura Mor undera Muffasil police station and arrested three robbers.  Two other robbers managed to escape taking the advantage of the melee.

Aurangabad SP  Babu Ram said that timely action by police  foiled a loot attempt.  The arrested persons were identified as Deepak Kumar, Suhail alias Amit and Rajeshar Paswan, all are residents of village Bharub under Obra Police Station. They  have confessed their involvement in loot bid. The SP said that police have recovered a country made pistol, iron made nails and others tools used to loot vehicles. He said that efforts were on to nab the absconding  criminals and police stations had been issued directives in this regard. Police sources said that the arrested criminals  confessed disclosed they were planning to target heavy inter-state vehicles.
