Patna : Non-participation of some top opposition leaders including AICC president Sonia Gandhi, AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi, BSP chief Mayawati and senior left leaders notwithstanding, RJD  workers and supporters started reaching state capital to attend party’s rally at Patna Gandhi Maidan on August 27, 2017.

With 19 Bihar districts including Araria, Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj Madhubani, Darbhanga, Gopalganj, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, East Champaran and West Champaran reeling under flood, which has so far claimed 418 human lives and affected 1.67 crore people, the RJD supporters from these districts attending the August 27 rally is unlikely to be impressive. The RJD supporters from South Bihar districts, which are not affected by flood, are likely to turn up in the large numbers though. The RJD workers from some districts in Jharkhand will also be attending the rally.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad will be the star attraction of the rally. Lalu is likely to target PM Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in his speech. Lalu will also attack Nitish Kumar on Srijan fund scam even though the latter has gone for the CBI probe into the Rs 664 crore scam. The CBI has, in fact, begun  its probe into the scam.
