Buxar : Hundreds of activists of RJD and JD(U) on March 14 took out a procession that passed through the main thoroughfares of Buxar town and burnt the effigy of the Buxar BJP MP Ashwini Choubey to protest the Buxar bandh call he had given on March 13 demanding action against the officials of South Bihar Power Distribution Limited (SBPDCL).
The activists of the BJP and the ABVP were agitating against the SBPDCL and were beaten up by police when they tried to halt the working in the office earlier. After that, they started demanding action against the officials of the SBPDCL. Meanwhile, Buxar MP Ashwini Choubey gave a call for observing a day long fast and Buxar bandh on Holi day. The activists of the RJD and the JD(U), in protest, burnt the effigy of the BJP MP on March 14. Ashok Singh, JD(U), said that the BJP and the ABVP had resorted to vandalism at SBPDCL office.
