Rituparna jumps 46 places in BWF rankings, Shruti Mundada jumps 47 places

Patna : Reigning Olympic Champion Carolina Marin, 26, Spain, has jumped 7 places to be ranked World No 11 with 55,600 points in BWF rankings released on December 3, 2019, after winning women’s singles title at Syed Modi International Badminton Championships, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 event, at Lucknow, UP, India, last week defeating Phittayaporn Chaiwan, 18, Thailand, in the final. Chaiwan has jumped 4 placed to be ranked World No 36 with 35,170 points.

Rituparna Das, 23, India, has jumped 46 places to be ranked World No 119 with 14,780 points after reaching the semi-finals of at Syed Modi International Badminton Championships. Shruti Mundada, 25, India, who had reached QFs at Syed  Modi International Badminton Championships, has jumped 47 places to be ranked World No 153 with 10,950 points. Ashmita Chaliha, 20, India, has jumped 18 places to be ranked World No 98 with 17,745 points after reaching pre-quarter-finals at Lucknow.

P V Sindhu, India, remain static at World No 6 with 78,314 points while Saina Nehwal, India, stays at World No 10 with 56.937 points. Tai Tzu Ying, Chinese Taipei, remains World No 1 with 92,675 points while Chen Yu Fei, China, is World No 2 with 92,465 points. Nozomi Okuhara, Japan, is World No 3 with 88,986 points while Akane Yamaguchi, Japan, is World No 4 with 88,650 points. Ratchanok Intanon, Thailand, remains World No 5 with 80,285 points.

Riya Mookerjee, India, has jumped 4 places to be ranked World No 87 with 19,300 points while Sai Uttejitha Rao Chukka, 21, India, has jumped 5 places to be ranked World No 101 with 17,030 points. Vrushali Gummadi, India, has jumped 2 places and ranked World No 111 with 15,950 points. Anura Prabhudesai, India, has also jumped 2 places and ranked World No 113 with 15,750 points.

Tanvi Lad, 26, India, has jumped 18 places and is ranked World No 121 with 14,620 points. Aakarshi Kashyap, 18, has jumped 9 places and is ranked World No 129 with 13,120 points.
