Chas (Jharkhand) : The two-day Rhymes- Chimes Fest concluded at DPS Chas in Bokaro District in Jharkhand on November 23, 2019, with 15 playschools of the city participating at an inter-school rhymes competition marked by brilliant  performance by the tiny-tots of these schools. Aptly, the second day of the two day Rhymes-Chimes event was labelled as UMANG. The competition saw more than 200 students participating at the day long event in the most colourful costumes and props.

Chief Guest Pandit Chetan Joshi, a well-known flautist, enriched the programme with his presence and later on with his laudable speech. He extolled the virtues of such event and the importance it plays in moulding the little stars into responsible citizens of tomorrow. Other dignitaries present included N Muralidharan, Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS, Chas, Neelkamal Sinha, Principal, Pushpa Agarwal, Director, Pushp Sunshine International  School, and Suresh Agarwal, Secretary, DS Memorial Society.

About 200 students from 15 prestigious playschools participated at the competition. Beauty is the realm of poetry; children enjoy the beauty of expression, thoughts, feeling, rhyme, rhythm and music of words. Taking all these factors into consideration the children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence.

The day began with the welcome speech by the Principal of the host school Neelkamal Sinha, who appreciated parents for encouraging their kids to participate at such competition thereby building confidence in them.

The children came up with different poems on various topics and recited them with great enthusiasm. A special panel of jury was invited to judge the competition. The jury members were: Kumari Nitu, Mithila Academy, Sonal, Mithila Academy, Shilpi Shandilya, Rainbow Public Schoool,  Priya Singh, Crescent Public School, and  Rina Singh, MGM Higher Secondary school.

In the first group (3-4 years), the first position was secured by Reyansh Tiwari  of Kidzee Pre School where as Pushpesh Shekhar of Eureka Play Group and Aradhya Rathore of Kidzee Pre School  stood second and third respectively. In the second group (4-5), Anaanya Mishra of Bachpan Play School (Sec-2D) bagged the 1st position and Navnnya Chidar of Eureka Play School and Prachi Kumari of Eureka Play School (Sec-4C) came 2nd and 3rd respectively.

In the last group (5-6 years), Muntasir Ansari of Kidzee Pre School secured 1st position while Viraj Sharma and Arnav Mallick of Pushp Sunshine International school came 2nd and 3rd. Nine students also were awarded consolation prizes. Every participant was given a participation certificate.

Vote of thanks was given by Ms Babita, Co-Scholastic Manager, DPS, Chas. The teachers conducted the programme  under the supervision of  Dr Padmalaya Dash Choudhury, (Guidance Supervisor, DPS Chas) & Rashmi Sinha (Headmistress, DPS Chas).
