Retd. armyman shot at & injured in land dispute at Bhojpur village

Ara : Some armed miscreants shot at and seriously injured a retired armyman at village Dumaria under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district on February 12, 2019. The villagers rushed him to Sadar Hospital, Ara, where his condition is stated to be critical. Land dispute is said to be the reason behind the incident. An FIR has been lodged with Koelwar police station but no arrest has so far been made in connection with the incident.

SHO, Koelwar police station, said that Dashrath Singh of village Dumaria was in the army and after retirement he lived at his native village and also worked as private security guard. On February 12, 2019, some armed miscreants attacked his house and thrashed his elder brother Hare Ram Singh and escaped in a dispute over a piece of land, the SHO said adding Dashrath Singh lodged a named FIR with Koelwar police station in this connection.

As the news of institution of FIR reached the village, the miscreants returned and shot at and injured Dashrath Singh, the SHO said. The SHO said that police are conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.
