Bokaro (Jharkhand) : Encouraging discipline and punctuality, DPS Bokaro organised a ‘Regularity Award Function’ on June 18, 2019, at Ashwaghosh Kala Kshetra. Altogether 300 students of senior classes from class VI to XII were felicitated with medals, trophies and certificates of appreciation on the occasion.
It may be mentioned here that the award is given every year for 100 percent attendance to those students who do not miss their school even during an academic year. On this occasion 59 students of ‘Deepansh’, a Siksha Kendra run under the aegis of Delhi Public School Bokaro, were also given the awards.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mukul Prasad, Executive Director (Personnel and Administration), Bokaro Steel Plant, who is also the Pro Vice Chairman, DPS Bokaro. N P Srivastava, DGM, Environment Control, Bokaro steel plant, also graced the event.
Appreciating the winners, the chief guest said,” It is a privilege for the students to secure their place at such an institution which has made a niche in the world of education.” Describing the students as valuable and potential resource, he asked them to utilise their time judiciously and strike a balance between their scholastic and co- scholastics. “Learn to channelise your thought process and give back to the society,” he added.
Principal, DPS Bokaro, A S Gangwar, said, “This is an achievement that we appreciate and encourage because to be regular is a sign of discipline. Only the ones who are healthy and spirited can turn an ordinary life into to an extra- ordinary one.”
Among the achievers of the 100% attendance, Bittu Kumar and Ayush Kumar of Class X received the award for the 12th time while Abhay Kumar, Mitali Singh, and Shashank Shekhar, all of Class IX; Rishabh Madhu of Class X and Isha Shankar Siwani of Class XI received for award for the 11th time. Anchal Anand, Ishika Shankar Siwani, Sneha Kumari of Class IX, Ayushi Anand of Class VIII and Vishabh Pranjal of Class X received it for the 10th time.
The Vice Head Boy Samridh Ranjan presented the welcome address and the graceful presentation of the rhythmic dance performance enhanced the charm of the occasion. Expressing gratitude, Tvisha Viswanath ,the Vice Head Girl, proposed the vote of thanks.
