Patna : The COVID cases rose to 1,38,265 in Bihar on September 1, 2020, as 1,928 more persons including 298 from Patna, 113 from Madhubani, 103 from Araria, 86 from Bhagalpur, 83 from Muzaffarpur, 77 from Supaul, 71 from Purnia, 70 from Begusarai, 61 from Saharsa, 58 from East Champaran, 55 from Gopalganj, 52 from Madhepura, 51 from Katihar, tested positive to it on August 31, 2020.

Of the 1,38,265 COVID cases reported in the state so far, a total of 1,21,601 patients have been declared ccured/ discharged including 2,029 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 87.95%. The number of active cases in Bihar was 15,954 on September 1, 2020. The state has tested 33,02,720 COVID samples till date including 1,15,559 on August 31, 2020.

COVID-19 toll, on the other hand, jumped to 709 in Bihar on September 1, 2020, with 15 new deaths being reported from different places in the state during last 24 hours including four from Patna, four from Nalanda, and one each from Saran, Sitamarhi, Rohtas, Nawada, Muzaffarpur, Sheikhpura, and Buxar. The toll in Patna has increased to 166.

Patna has reported 21,345 COVID cases till date of which 18,986 patients have been declared cured. Madhubani District in North Bihar has reported 4,465 COVID cases while Katihar District in Eastern Bihar has reported 4,633 cases and Nalanda 4,649 cases. East Champaran District in North Bihar has reported 5,105 COVID cases while West Champaran has reported 3,600 cases. Bhagalpur has reported 5,621 cases while Begusarai has reported 5,416 cases.
