New Delhi : The massive increase in the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured/discharged continues in India reaching 27,13,933 at 8 am on August 30, 2020, registering an increase of 64,935 in the last 24 hours, exceeding the number of active cases in the country by 19,48,631. The number of active cases in the country was 7,65,302 on August 30 morning. On August 29, 2020, a total of 65,050 were declared cured/discharged in the country.
India has reported 35,42,733 COVID-19 cases till date of which 27,13,933 (76.61%) patients have been declared cured. Altogether 4,14,61,636 COVID samples have been tested in the country including 10,55,027 on August 29, 2020.
Altogether 5,54,711 patients have been declared cured in Maharashtra, 3,55,727 in Tamilnadu, 3,12,687 in Andhra Pradesh, 2,35,128 in Karnataka, 1,52,922 in Delhi, 1,62,741 in UP, and 1,27,644 in West Bengal, till date, according to Union Health Ministry.
The COVID death toll shot up to 63,498 on August 30, 2020, with 948 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours including 328 from Maharashtra, 115 from Karnataka, 87 from Tamilnadu, 82 from Andhra Pradesh, 62 from UP, 53 from West Bengal, 41 from Punjab, 13 from Gujarat, 22 from MP, and 15 from Delhi. The Case Fatality Rate has dropped to 1.79% in the country, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The COVID-19 toll break-up in India on August 30, 2020, is : Maharashtra (24,103), Tamilnadu (7,137), Delhi (4,404), Karnataka (5,483), Gujarat (2,989), Andhra Pradesh (3,796), Uttar Pradesh (3,356), West Bengal (3,126), Madhya Pradesh (1,345), Rajasthan (1,030), Punjab (1,348), Telengana (818), J&K (685), Haryana (670), Bihar (561), Odisha (470), Jharkhand (397), Assam (289), Uttarakhand (250), Kerala (280), Chhattisgarh (262), Puducherry (211), Goa (178), Tripura (98), Chandigarh (45), Andaman & Nicobar (44), Himachal Pradesh (34), Ladakh (32), Manipur (28), Nagaland (9), Meghalaya (10), Arunachal Pradesh (5), Sikkim (3), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
As far Bihar figure goes, according to State Health Department, the COVID death toll was 679 in the state on August 29, 2020.
