New Delhi : Recoveries outpaced the new Covid-19 cases in India in last 24 hours by a margin of 2,671 after a gap of five days at 8 am on February 23, 2021. A total of 13,255 Covid-19 patients were declared cured /discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,07,12,665 exceeding the number of active cases (1,47,306) by a huge margin of 1,05,65,359 on February 23, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 10,584 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the country on February 23, 2021, taking the tally to 1,10,16,434.
The number of active cases accounted for 1.34% of the total cases ( 1,10,16,434) on February 23, a drop of 2,749 cases in last 24 hours. Of the 1,10,16,434 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 1,07,12,665 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 97,24% on February 23, 2021, from 97.22% on February 22. The country has tested 21,22,30,431 samples so far including 6,78,685 samples on February 22. Meanwhile, 1,17,45,552 Corona Warriors have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the country so far including 6,28,696 beneficiaries on February 22.
The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,56,463 in India on February 23, 2021, with 78 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 18 in Maharashtra, 16 in Kerala, 15 in Punjab, 6 in Tamilnadu, 6 in Chhattisgarh, 5 in Karnataka, 2 in West Bengal, 2 in Uttarakhand, 1 in Delhi, 1 in Bihar, 1 in Gujarat, and 1 in Jharkhand. India had recorded 83 new deaths on February 22, 2021.
