Record foodgrains production likely

New Delhi :Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh on September 12, 2017, said that the fourth estimates has revealed record foodgrains production at 275.68 million tonnes including  110.15 mn tonnes paddy, 98.38 mn tonnes wheat, 22.95 mn tonnes pulses and 44.19 mn tonnes coarse cereal.  Singh said that increased expenditure has led to increase in production of the foodgrains.

Singh was speaking at the 13th General Council meeting of National Food Security Mission (NFSM), a central scheme launched in 2007. All the three MoS : Parshottam Rupala, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Krishna Raj, were present at the meeting, according to a PIB release.
