Patna : The massive increase in the number of COVID-19 patients being declared cured/discharged continues in India taking the tally to 36,24,196 at 8 am on September 12, 2020, a record increase of 81,533 in last 24 hours, exceeding the number of active cases in the country by a huge margin of 26,65,880. On the negative side, India also reported 97,570 new COVID-19 cases during last 24 hours.
The country has so far reported 46,59,984 COVID-19 cases of which 36,24,196 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 77.77%. The number of active cases in the country is 20.56 % of the total COVID-19 cases reported so far. India has tested 5,51,89,226 COVID samples till date including 10,91,251 samples on September 11, 2020.
The COVID-10 death toll in India jumped to 77,472 on September 12, 2020, with 1201 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours including 442 from Maharashtra, 130 from Maharashtra, 63 from Punjab, 76 from UP, 57 from West Bengal, 77 from Andhra Pradesh, 21 from Delhi, 16 from Gujarat, 15 from Rajasthan, and 30 from MP. The Case Fatality Rate had dropped to 1.66 % in the country on September 12, 2020, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on September 12, 2020, is : Maharashtra (28,724), Tamilnadu (8,231), Karnataka (7,067), Delhi (4,687), Andhra Pradesh (4,779), Uttar Pradesh (4,282), West Bengal (3,828), Gujarat (3,180), Madhya Pradesh (1,691), Rajasthan (1,207), Punjab (2,212), Telengana (950), J&K (854), Haryana (932), Bihar (797), Odisha (605), Jharkhand (532), Assam (430), Uttarakhand (388), Kerala (410), Chhattisgarh (519), Puducherry (365), Goa (276), Tripura (182), Chandigarh (86), Andaman & Nicobar (51), Himachal Pradesh (71), Ladakh (38), Manipur (44), Nagaland (10), Meghalaya (24), Arunachal Pradesh (10), Sikkim (8), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
