New Delhi : The massive increase in the number of COVID-19 patients getting cured continues in India reaching 15,35,743 at 8 am on August 10, 2020, a record increase of 54,859 during last 24 hours, exceeding the number active cases by 9,00,798. The number of active cases stands at 6,34,945 as on August 10, 2020.

On the negative side, COVID death toll has surged to 44,386 in India with 1,007 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country including 390 from Maharashtra, 119 from Tamilnadu, 107 from Karnataka, 97 from Andhra Pradesh, 54 from West Bengal, 41 from Uttar Pradesh (UP), 24 from Gujarat, and 13 from Delhi, according to Union Health Ministry sources.

The Coronavirus death toll break-up in India on August 10, 2020, is : Maharashtra (17,757),Tamilnadu (4,927), Delhi (4,111), Karnataka (3,198), Gujarat (2,652), Uttar Pradesh (2,069), West Bengal (2,059), Andhra Pradesh (2,036), Madhya Pradesh (996), Rajasthan (789), Telengana (637), Punjab (586), Haryana (483), J&K (472), Bihar (387), Odisha (272), Jharkhand (177), Assam (145), Uttarakhand (125), Kerala (108),  Chhattisgarh (96), Puducherry (87), Goa (75), Tripura (42), Chandigarh (25),  Andaman & Nicobar (20), Himachal Pradesh (15), Manipur (11), Ladakh (9), Nagaland (8), Meghalaya (6), Arunachal Pradesh (3), Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu( 2), and Sikkim (1). As far Bihar figure goes, according to the State Government, the COVID death toll had reached 429 in the state on August 9, 2020.

Altogether 3,51,710 COVID patients have been declared cured till date in Maharashtra followed by 2,38,638 in Tamilnadu, 1,30,587 in Delhi, 93,908 in Karnataka, 72,650 in UP, 67,120 in West Bengal, and 57,586 in Telengana.
