RCD yet to take up construction of Garhani-Agiaon bridge over Sone

Ara: Communication  between Garhani-Agiaon remains disrupted due to collapse of the bridge over river Sone las year. The Garhani – Agiaon bridge over river Sone had collapsed when a overloaded truck passed through it in October 2015. Some communication has been estored via diversion but it becomes useless whenever it rains.

Executive Engineer, Road construction department (RCD), Rana Prabhash Singh said that the department had sent a Rs 5 crore proposal for the construction of bridge to the headquarters but the department did not approve it as the Water resources department (WRD)  has not given ‘no objection certificate’ (NOC) so far. He said that in absence of NOC, the RCD could not add the bridge construction work to its agenda. He said that the RCD had written to the WRD  for NOC several times but in vain so far.
