Patna : Mumbai Indians (MI) restricted Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to 165/6 in 20 overs in 39th match of IPL at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, UAE, on September 26, 2021, night, as fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took the prize wickets of all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and A B de Villiers on successive balls in the 19th over conceding just 6 runs including a wide while fellow fast bowler Trent Boult took the wicket of Shahbaz Ahmed in last over conceding just 3 runs.
The RCB score is, however, quite competitive built around captain Virat Kohli’s ( opener) 51 runs in 42 balls hitting 3 fours and 3 sixes, his back to back fifties, and 37 balls 56 with 6 fours and 3 sixes by Maxwell.
Kohli fell to fast bowler Adam Milne. A B de Villers scored just 11 runs while opener Devdutt padikkal fell to Bumrah for zero. Srikar Bharat (wk) fell to leg spinner Rahul Chahar for 32 in 24 balls with 2 four snad 2 sixes. Kohli and Srikar added 68 runs for 2nd wicket. Kohli and Maxwell added 51 runs for 3rd wicket. All MI bowlers were hit for sixes. Maxwell even hit reverse swell six.
For MI, Bumrah took 3/36 in 4 overs while Boult took 1/17 in 4 overs. Milne took 1/48 in 4 overs while Rahul Chahar took 1/33 in 4 overs.
