Rakesh Asthana made Special Director, CBI

New Delhi : The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of eight IPS officers of 1984 batch as Special DG (SDG) on promotion at the Centre. Rakesh Asthana, working as Additional Director, CBI, has been appointed as Special Director, CBI, from the date of assumption of charge of the post.

Rajesh Ranjan, working as Additional DG, BSF, has been promoted to the rank of Special DG, BSF, from the date of assumption of charge of the post and upto date of superannuation on November 30, 2020 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Deepak Kumar Mishra, working as Additional DG, CRPF, has been promoted to the rank of Special DG, CRPF,from the date of assumption of charge of the post and up to date of his superannuation on November 30, 2018, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Gurbachan Singh, working as Additional Director in IB, has been promoted to the rank of Special Director in IB against existing vacancy  with effect from August  21, 2017, and up to date of his superannuation on December 31, 2018, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, according to a PIB release.

Sudeep Lakhtakia, working as Additional DG in CRPF, has been  to the rank of Special DG, CRPF, from the date of assumption of charge of the post and up to date of his superannuation on July 31, 2019, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Special DG S Javeed Ahmed, working as Director, NICFS, has also been promoted to SDG rank from the date of assumption of charge of the post and up to date of his superannuation on March 31, 2020, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Arvind Kumar,  working as Additional Director, IB, has been promoted to the rank of SDG, IB, from the date of assumption of charge of the post and up to date of his superannuation on September 30, 2019, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. A P Maheshwari, working as Additional DG, BSF, has been promoted to the rank of Special DG, BSF, from the date of assumption of charge of the post and up to date of his superannuation on February 28, 2021, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
