New Delhi : Rajni Kant Mishra on September 30, 2017, took over as Director General (DG), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), succeeding Archana Ramasundaram here. He is a UP cadre IPS Officer of 1984 batch. He is a Post Graduate in Science. He has served in different capacities in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Mishra joined CBI in 2002 and worked there as DIG & IG till 2009. He joined Border Security Force (BSF) in June, 2013, and worked as IG/ADG BSF, Frontier Headquarters, Tripura and South Bengal. Before taking over the charge of DG, SSB, he was working as ADG, BSF Headquarters, according to a PIB release. Mishra was recipient of Police Medal in 2003 and Prestigious President Police Medal in 2009.
