Buxar: Police arrested one Jai Deo Prasad alias Mohanji of Kota, Rajasthan, along with his wife, five daughters and three sons on Thursday for allegedly collecting Rs 36 lakh in from the Mahanth of Sita Ram Vivah Ashram, Buxar, in a fraudulent manner.

Police sources said that Jai Deo Prasad alias Mohanji of Kota in Rajasthan had deceived the Mahanth of Sita Ram Vivah Ashram at Naya Bazaar in Buxar, Rajaram Sharan Ji, and fraudulently took Rs 36 lakh from him before Durga Puja for supplying him cows of Giri race saying he belongs to Gujarat.

When he did not supply the cow, the Mahanth lodged an FIR against him. Police immediately swung into action and arrested him along with his wife, five daughters and three sons. Police said that Jai Deo Prasad had no permanent address and he along with his family members wasKumar  in this business for the last 31 years. They targeted temples in the Hindi speaking belt only.
