Patna : The two-day NAAC orientation workshop concluded at Raj Bhavan on April 5, 2019, with 500 participants and Resource Persons attending it. A NAAC specialists Prof Pratosh Bansal, Dr K Rama, Dr B S Madhukar, and Dr Ruchi Tripathy gave practical training to the participant on uploading of Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA) and Self Study Report (SSR) required to apply online for National Assessment and Acccreditation Council (NAAC) Accrediation by universities and colleges.
Addressing the valedictory session of workshop, Chief Guest and Chairman, Indian Council for Social Science Research(ICSSR), New Delhi, Dr B B Kumar, urged the universities in Bihar and Odisha to take initiative to break the monopoly of certain universities in the field of research in the field higher education. Dr Kumar said that the teachers and student in Bihar do not lack in talent and they must proper infrastructure including well equipped labratories and high standard libraries. He said that NAAC Accreditation had become a necessity for all the universities and colleges now to financial assistance from the UGC and RUSA.
Dr Kumar said that the Governor and Chancellor of State Universities Lalji Tandon had provided a position direction to higher education sector in Bihar. It is evident from the positive steps taken by the Raj Bhavan in connection for NAAC Accreditation of state universities and colleges. The Higher Education Advisor to Bihar Governor Prof R C Sobti said that the Bihar has witnessed positive developments in the field of higher education under the guidance of Governor Lalji Tandon.
Principal Secretary to Bihar Governor Vivek Kumar Singh described the two-day workshop a grand success and asked the state universities and colleges to submit their respective reports for Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA) in connection with NAAC Accreditation by April 15, 2019.
