Ara : Railway employees have a tough time during rainy season as the railway quarters they are living in are in dilapidated condition and drain water logged is outside their quarters even during summer season. Foul smell emit from the drains and garbage scattered there. About three years ago, the railways had asked them to vacate the quarters in old railway colony located near warehouse on the campus of Ara railway station due to their dilapidated condition but majority of the employees continue to live there.
Senior Section Engineer, Danapur Division of East Central Railway (ECR), Ranjay Kumar said that work order for maintenance of Ara railway colony is ready and the quarters will be renovated very soon. He said that the problem of accumulation of water concerns Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC).
President, East Central Railway Employee Association, Manoj Kumar Pandey said that he will place the problems of the employees living in dilapidated quarters of the railway colony before the authorities concerned.
