Railway scrap dealer, wife, daughter shot at & seriously injured at Samastipur

Samastipur :  Two hired armed criminals  in the guise of  scrap dealers  entered  Station Road, Samastipur, house of a big railway scrap buyer of North Bihar Badri Nath Goenka and fired indiscriminately on him, on September 5, 2019, late night.   Goenka sustained three bullet injuries. Hearing the sound of firing, Sonal  Goenka ,wife  of Badri Nath Goenka, and  his daughter Aditi Kumari,  rushed to his room but the criminals also fired on them and they too sustained bullet injuries.

According to police, the  hired  criminals had  come to  kill  Badri Nath Goenka so they  fled away after firing on him thinking he had died.  SDPO Sadar, Samastipur, Pritish Kumar, said that a case has been lodged in this connection and  investigation is  on to arrest the criminals.

Badri Nath Goenka, his wife  Sonal Goenka, and  daughter Aditi Kumari  have been admitted to a  private hospital. The condition of Badri Nath Goenka and his wife Sonal is stated to be critical,  according to the doctors attending on them. Aditi is out of danger.

Aditi said  two persons  came to meet her father on September 5 late night and they started talk and after that they heard sound of firing from the drawing  room and she rushed there with her mother. The criminals fired around 5 rounds on them, she said.

According to locals,  a powerful group of contractors  had tried to eliminate  Badri Nath Goenka earlier too to control the  railway scrap buying but they had failed in their attempt. According to police sources, two attempts were made to kill  Badri Nath Goenka  in last two years  by criminals but he had escaped unhurt.  Raj Kumar Goenka, brother of Badri Nath Goenka, was also killed by the criminals in 2017.
