Patna : World No 150 Henri Laaksonen, 29, Switzerland, handed a shock defeat to World No 11 Roberto bautista Agut, 33, Spain, in 2nd round round at French Open, an  ATP Grand Slam Tournament played on outdoor clay courts, at Stade Roland Garros, Paris, France, on June 2, 2021. Laaksonen upset 11th seed Agut in four-sets 6-3, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 to reach the 3rd round of the tournament.

Qualifier Laaksonen fired 9 Aces in the match to 4 by Agut. The Swiss also won 6 break points during the match to3 by the Spaniard. Agut committed 5 double faults to 4 by Laaksonen. The Swiss, in all, won 111 points during the match to 98 by the Spaniard.

But, fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, 6th seed Alexander Zverev, 24, Germany, Kei Nishikori, Japan, advanced to the 3rd round of the French Open. Tsitsipas beat Pedro Martinez, Spain, in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 in 2nd found on June 2, 2021, hammering 8 Aces.  the Greek won 8 break points during the match to 4 by Martinez.

Zverev beat Roman Safiullin, 23, Russia, in straight sets 7-6, 6-3, 7-6 in 2nd round. Zverev hammered 15 Aces during the match to 6 by Safiullin. The German won 4 break points to 2 by the Russian.

Nishikori battled past 23rd seed Karen Khachanow, Russia, in five-sets 4-6, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 in 2nd round overcoming 5 Aces fired by the Russian. Nishikori won 5 break points to 4 by the Russian.
