Patna : Even as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Bihar School Examination Board(BSEB) are yet to announce the results of Class XII examination, Patna University (PU) has already announced the schedule of admission to the three-year degree courses both under conventional and self-financing modes.

Application forms for admission to the three-year degree courses in arts, science and commerce streams shall be made available from May 16 and the last date for submission of filled in application forms is June 15.

For the first time, PU has initiated this year the process of online admission of students to the undergraduate courses being imparted in its different constituent colleges. Students seeking admission to a degree course would first have to get themselves registered online by paying Rs 300 through debit card, credit card, net banking or bank challan. The candidate will get a unique code number which can be utilized for downloading the application form from the university website.

A student seeking admission in more than one college would have to fill in admission form separately for each college. However, he would have the take the common entrance test for all the colleges. The entrance test will be held faculty wise, separately for arts, science and commerce. The filled in application forms for admission would have to be submitted online. The admit card for entrance test can be downloaded using the unique code number.

After the common entrance test, a merit list of successful candidates would be published and the candidates would be able to secure admission to the institution of their choice on the basis of their relative merit. All the admission charges would have to be deposited online.

The process of admission to the post-graduation courses of PU would also be the same as that of undergraduate courses. Students can fill in the application forms and deposit admission charges online. There would be only one form displayed on PU’s website and the students would have to mention the subject in which they are seeking admission.

Patna Women’s College (PWC), a constituent unit of Patna University (PU), has, however, already started the process of admission to its various self-financing and vocational courses.

The college had announced its admission schedules for all its courses in the month of April itself and the last date for submission of application forms for admission is likely to end soon. The college runs a host of self-financing courses, including three-year degree courses in bachelor of computer applications (BCA), bachelor of business administration (BBA), bachelor of mass communications (BMC), bachelor of communicative English (BCE), bachelor of industrial microbiology, bachelor of advertising and sales management, PG diploma in computer applications, PG diploma in fashion designing, master of computer applications (MCA) and bachelor of education (B Ed).

Application forms for admission to all these courses are already on sale. The last date for submission of filled in application forms for all these courses except B Ed programme is May 10. The entrance test will be held on May 17 and 18 and the results of the test will be announced on May 27. Personal interview of the successful candidates will be held between June 1 and 3 and the list of candidates finally selected for admission to these courses will be published on June 4. The admission of selected students would be held on June 8 and 9.

The last date for submission of application forms for admission to the B Ed course is May 27. The entrance test will be held on May 30 and the results of the entrance test will be published on June 8. Admission of candidates will be held on June 20 and the classes of newly admitted students will commence on July 1

This college also runs a community college affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University. The community college runs two diploma courses in retail and health care. Applications for admission to these courses can be submitted between May 16 and June 4. The list of selected candidates will be declared on June 13 and the admission will be held on June 15.

In other colleges of PU, the sale of application forms for admission to various self-financing courses shall start on May 16. The details of entrance tests, interview and admission are yet to be announced by the colleges.
