Saharsa : A Prohibition & Excise Department team on January 29, 2022, night, seized 250 cartons of foreign liquor during a raid conducted at village Bherdhari under Sadar police station, Saharsa, in North Bihar, and arrested 6 persons including the key accused. The Prohibition % Excise Department team also seized a pick-up van during the raid.
Active Superintendent, Excise Department, Saharsa, Raj Kishore Singh, said the Excise officials conducted raid when the liquor smugglers were being downloading foreign liquor from a pick-up van near a house at village Bherdhari. Singh said the liquor was also seized from a godown. He said the altogether 9,540 bottles of foreign liquyor made in Haryana were seized.
Singh said that main accused Hemant Kumar, a resident o Hatiagachi, Saharsa, was arrested during the raid. Shakti Chaudhary, Darshan Kumar, Vikas Kumar, Aurangzeb, and Chand were also arrested, Singh added. The Excise officials are trying to establish the identity of the owner of pick-up van.
