Ara : Some unidentified miscreants shot dead a priest at village Jamunipur under Hasan Bazaar police outpost in Bhojpur District around midnight on September 10, 2021, when he was sleeping, and escaped.
Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. An FIR has been lodged with Hasan Bazaar police outpost in this connection and police are investigating the matter. The rReason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. The deceased was identified as Ram Chandra Singh, 65, son of late Tukari Singh of village Munji under Bikramganj police station in Rohtas district.
SHO, Hasan Bazaar police outpost, Shivendra Kumar, said that Ram Chandra Singh was living at his in-laws’ village at Jamunipur in Bhojpur District for the last several years and was a priest at a temple at the village. He was also an exorcist. He was sleeping in his hut when some unidentified miscreants shot him dead.
