Patna : World No 11 B Sai Praneeth, 27, and World No 25 Parupalli Kashyap, 33, both India, entered the second round of Fuzhou China Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 750 event, winning their respective first round matches on November 6, 2019.

Praneeth edged past World No 16 Tommy Sugiarto,Indonesia, in a three-game thriller 15-21, 21-12, 21-10 in 52 minutes in first round at Haixia Olympic Sports Centre, Fuzhou, China, rallying back from one game down. Praneeth, a semi-finalist at World Championships at Basel, Switzerland, in August 2019, won 57 rallies in the match to 43 by Sugiarto. The Indian won 10 consecutive poin ts in the match to 5 by the Indonesian. Praneeth now leads Sugiarto 3-2 Head to Head.

Kashyap beat World No 21 Sitthikom Thammasin, 24, Thailand, 21-14, 21-13 in 43 minutes in first round. Kashyap won 42 rallies in the match to 27 by Sitthikom. The Indian won 6 consecutive points in the match to 3 by Sitthikom. Sitthikon though still leads Kashyap 2-1 Head to Head.

World No 3 and reigning Olympic champion Chen Long, 30, China, beat five-time former World Champion Lin Dan, 36, China, 19-21, 21-12, 21-12 in 82 minutes in first round cominfrom behind. Chen Long won 61 rallies in the match to 45 by Lin Dan. Both of them won 5 consecutive points each in the match. The two players are now locked 9-9 Head to Head.

World No 5 Anders Antonsen, Denmark, beat World No 13 Kantaphon Wangcharoen, Thailand, 21-12, 21-7 in 32 minutes in first round. Antonsen won 42 rallies in the match to 19 by Kantaphon. He won 17 consecutive points in the match to 3 by Kantaphon. Antonsen now leads Kantaphon 3-0 Head to Head.
