Patna : World No 122 Prajnesh Gunneswaran, 30, India, beat Yannick Maden, 30, German, in straight sets on February 4, 2020, to enter the second round of Tata pen Maharashtra at Pune, India, an ATP 250 event. Gunneswaran beat Yannick Maden 7-6 (7-4), 7-6(7-5) in a tough contest both of which went to the tie-break.

World No 90 Egor Gerasimov, 27, Belarus, beat Paulo Lorenzi, 38, Italy, 6-2, 6-3 to enter the 2nd round of the tournament. Gerasimov fired 9 Aces in the match to 4 by the Italian. Both the players committed 3 double faults each in the match. Gerasimov, the 8th seed, won 4 break points in the match to 1 by the Italian. He also won 7 games in a row to 2 by the Italian. Lorenzi had reached 4th round of US Open in 2017.
Gerasimov will face Qualifier Nikola Milojevic, 24, Serbia, in second round on February 5. Milojevic beat Antoine Hoang, 24, France, 7-6, 6-4 in first round.
