Muzaffarpur : Sanjay Kumar Sinha, 45, Deputy Post-Master of Sub-Post office located on the campus of R D S College, Muzaffarpur, committed suicide on August 18, 2020, at his office by setting him afire after pouring petrol on his body.
A Kazi Mohammadpur police station team police sent his charred body to hospital for post-mortem. The cause of suicide is not yet known but a suicide note was found on the office table of Deputy Post Master Sinha. City SP, Muzaffarpur, Neeraj Kumar, said that as per suicide note,the deceased was facing some problems in his department. Police are investigating the case and trying to get the details of the problems facing Sinha at his office, family, and the Postal Department. An employee of the Sub-Post Office, RDS college campus, Muzaffarpur, has been detained and being quizzed by police.
SHO, Kazi Mohammadpur police station, Mohammad Sujauddin, said that deceased Sinha was native of village Khesarahi under Patepur police station in neighbouring Vaishali district and was at presentliving at P&T colony near Chhata Chowk, Muzaffarpur, with his family. It is said that on August 18, 2020, Sinha reached his office before time without taking meal. He allegedly had heated exchange with his wife at home. His wife made several calls to him after that but he did not pick the call.
