Pond owner shot dead at Sitamarhi village

Sitamarhi: Ram Eqbal Sah, 65, owner of a pond and native of village Kishanpur under Bathanaha police station in Sitamarhi district, was shot dead on May 14, 2017, during a dispute over fish catching. His son Pawan Kumar also sustained bullet injury in the incident and admitted to Sadar hospital.
As per villagers, ten shots were fired by rival group comprising six persons reportedly shareholder in the pond, over fishing rights. Both the parties are fighting cases as well. Sah was shot dead at the place where the pond is located. Six persons have been named in the FIR but none has been arrested so far. Raids are underway to nab the miscreants, said police sources.
