Ara : Bhojpur police have taken action against two Durga Puja Committees of Ara in connection with alleged violation of Puja guideline during the festival.

Station House Officer (SHO), Ara Town police stationĀ  (PS), Shambhu Kumar Bhagat, instituted named FIRs under 188.3 Epidemic Disease Act and 9 Loudspeaker Act against 20 each members including the Presidents and 10 each unknown persons of two Puja Committees forĀ  alleged violation of Puja guidelines issued by Bhojpur District Administration which which all the Puja Committees were asked to follow. They have also been banned from setting up pandals and installing idols for three years.

The SHO said that Bhojpur District Administration had issued guidelines banning playing of Disc Jockey (DJ) and participation of more than 20 persons during Durga Puja and immersion of idols. But two Puja Committees of Sapana Cinema Road and Jain Road respectively violated the guidelines by playing DJ during immersion procession and hundreds of people participated in them, the SHO said.
