Ara : A police Sub-Inspector (SI) Kameshwar Singh, 59, died due to Covid-19 during treatment at Ford Hospital, Patna, around midnight on April 28, 2021. His last rite was performed at Bansghat, Patna, on April 29, 2021. Kameshwar Singh was posted as SHO, Gidha, police outpost in Bhojpur District in South Bihar.
Kameshwar Singh fell ill two days ago and tested positive for Covid-19. He was admitted to Ford Hospita, Patna, but he breathed his last during treatment there around midnight on April 28, 2021. He was a resident of village Chhaparapar under Barhara police station in Bhojpur District. He was transferred to his home district from Nalanda four months ago, said Bhojpur SP Rakesh Kumar Dubey.
Mrityunjay Kumar Singh, State President, Bihar Police Association, expressed grief over Kameshwar Singh’s sudden demise and demanded a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased from the government. He said police personnel are performing their duty honestly risking their lives and so the government should come forward and extend a helping hand.
