Ara : Bhojpur SP Har Kishore Rai on January 20, 2021, got a Sub-Inspector (SI) Jitendra Singh arrested and him to jail after a video showing him realising money from truck drivers went viral on the social media. A named FIR was lodged with Koelwar police station (PS) against the SI Singh in this connection.
Bhojpur SP Har Kishore Rai said that complaints were pouring in regarding realisation of money from the drivers of trucks and tractors regularly. He had warned the police personnel and officials to mend their ways but to no avail. Meanwhile, a video of an SI, posted at Chandi police station, Jitendra Singh, realising money from the truck driver went viralon the social media.
The SP said that SI Jitendra Singh was assigned the task of patrolling during night but he got involved in an illegal act and started realising money from the truck drivers. The SP said that after inquiry the video was found correct and so he took immediate action against the SI. The SP ordered for his arrest and sent him to jail after lodging a named FIR against him.
It may be mentioned here that the Bhojpur SP has been taking action against the erring police officials ever since he assumed office at Ara. A Dafadar Vinay Pandey was arrested for realising money from the truck and tractor drivers on Ara-Chhapara main road on January 4, 2021, after a video in this regard went viral. A named FIR was lodged against him with Barhara police station and he was sent to jail.
Earlier, an SI and five police personnel of Hasan Bazaar police outpost and a police personnel of Koelwar police station were arrested and sent to jail in the year 2020 for allegedly realising money from the truck and tractor drivers.
