Muzaffarpur: Police seized a truck carrying 500 DAP fertiliser under Paru block of Muzaffarpur police on November 23 evening following information that the fertiliser was to be sold in black market. Police also registered an FIR his connection as the truck driver could not produce any document regarding transportation of the fertiliser, said District Agriculture Officer (DAO), Muzaffarpur, Vikas Kumar. The Block Development Officer (BDO), Paru, said the fertiliser was brought over from UP and was worth Rs 6 lakh. Sources said that fertiliser from outside was being transported to six blocks of the district and being sold to the farmers at exorbitant prices. Muzaffarpur DM has directed all the BDOs to immediately stop blackmarketing of fertiliser by conducting raids.
