Ara : Police, on a tip off, seized 90 kg of contraband Ganja worth about Rs 3 lakh, a Pick-up van, a motorcycle and Rs 1.5 lakh cash on late June 14, 2017, evening near Kharauni Bridge on  NH 84 under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district.

Police also arrested three drug peddlers. They were identified as Guddu Singh, son Ram Kripal Singh, Ajay Singh, son of Mukhram Singh of Makhdumpur village under Bihia police station, and Allauddin, son of Idrish Khan of Paithanpur under Ara Muffassil Police Station. Later, police forwarded them to jail.

SHO, Bihia police station, Bimlesh Kumar said he got information that contraband Ganja was being brought over to Bihia. He immediately swung into action and seized the consignment near Kharauni Bridge when it was being unloaded from a pick-up van. He said the consignment was brought over from village Masardh under Karisath police station in Bhojpur district. The SHO said that Guddu Singh was habitual drug peddler and two cases with Bihia police station and one with  Town police station, Ara, related to ganja smuggling had been lodged against him in the past.
