Ara: Bhojpuri police, on a tip off, intercepted a vehicle and seized 456 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and also arrested four persons in this connection. Later, all the four persons were sent to jail. Police also seized a Pick-up van and two motorcycles.
The arrested persons were identified as Sonu Singh and Rohit Singh of Zamira village under Ara Muffassil police station, Parashuram Gope of Patna and Sonu of village Saraiya under Krishnagarha police station in Bhojpur district.
The SHO, Koelwar Police Station, said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL was to pass through Koelwar on Ara – Patna main road on Sunday. He immediately laid a trap and started checking vehicles. In the meantime, a Pick Van was located but the driver of the vehicle, seeing the police force, escaped parking the vehicle at the roadside. The SHO with police force rushed to the spot and seized the vehicle and during search, 456 bottles of IMFL were seized. He said four persons on two motorcycles were following the vehicle. The police also intercepted and arrested them. They confessed that the consignment was for them.
