Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, seized 242 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) loaded on a mini truck and also arrested two persons including the driver of the truck on August 20, 2018, at Ara. Later, police sent them to jail after lodging an FIR under the Prohibition & Excise Act.
Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar said that he had got information that a big consignment of IMFL was being smuggled from New Delhi. He immediately ordered for vehicle checking and police intercepted a mini truck on the Balua-Ganghar main road under Ara Muffassil police station. When truck was searched, police seized 242 cartons of IMFL loaded on the mini truck kept under the piles of shoes.
Police seized the truck and arrested its driver Dharmveer Kumar of Haryana and a liquor smuggler Pappu Kumar of Daulatpur under Ara Muffassil police station. The SP further said that the liquor was to be delivered at Ara and Patna.
