Ara : Government Railway Police (GRP), Ara, seized 240 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) hidden in two baskets of fish on Platform No 1 at Ara Railway Station on December 15, 2019, though the liquor smugglers escaped from the scene. An FIR has been lodged by the GRP under the Prohibition & Excise Act.
SHO, GRP, Ara, said that he got information that a big consignment of liquor was being brought over from Uttar Pradesh to Ara. He immediately started checking at Ara railway station. Seeing police, the liquor smugglers escaped from the scene leaving two baskets behind. When police searched the two baskets, 240 bottles of IMFL were found which were seized.
