Motihari : A police team headed by SDPO, Pakaridayal, Sunil Kumar Singh, conducted raid at a Government Middle School at
Kashi Pakadi village under Rajepur police station in East Champaran District in North Bihar at 10 pm on September 22, 2020, and during search of its different rooms seized 169 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 12 lakh in one of the biggest seizure of liquor by police in the district.
Police also arrested the Headmaster, husband of an Assistant Teacher, and a Cook of Mid-Day Meal Scheme of the school in this connection. They are being quizzed by police to identify the liquor smuggler who had stored liquor bottles in school rooms.
SDPO, Pakaridayal, Sunil Kumar Singh, said that he had received specific information at 9.30 pm on September 22, 2020, that a
smuggler had unloaded huge quantity of liquor from a pick-up van and stored the same in the rooms of the aforesaid school allegedly in connivance with the school teachers and staff. The SDPO rushed to the school with Rajepur police. Sheo Shankar Prasad, Headmaster of the school was called and he unlocked the rooms and police seized 1200 litres IMFL kept in 169 cartons and stored in a room. Some locals, who gathered at the spot, informed police that some bike borne persons were seen carrying bottles on their bikes.
SDPO, Sunil Kumar Singh, said that the HM of the school and husband of an Assistant Teacher of the school are involved in this racket. The cook of the MDM of the school, who lives in front of the school, is also involved in this racket, the SDPO said. Police are
investigating the case and some liquor smugglers of Motipur in Muzaffarpur are likely to be arrested soon.
